2. Take out your garage door opener

3. Take out all CDs

4. Remove your Fastrak stickers or EZ Passes

5. Look for vehicle emergency supplies, such as jumper cables, and remove

7. Don’t forget to check the glove box

8. Look between the seats

Making sure you grab these items as you are preparing for car donation may save you a headache, a lost favorite CD in the future, or complicated paperwork to file. Some people leave the vehicle repair and maintenance reports in the vehicle.  This is completely up to you, but you should be aware that these documents frequently contain your contact information and potential buyers could contact you in the future.

Is your car dirty someone could paint the Mona Lisa in the dirt on your back window?  Fortunately for you, you do not need to wash your car before donating it as most auctions will wash it before a sale. You don’t need to vacuum your car either, but remember that cleaner cars get more money for your selected charity. If you have questions about preparing for car donation, please call Center for Car Donations at (877) 411-3662 and a representative can walk you through the steps.
